Taking a teaching position as foreign teachers in Dalian Maritime University, you shall work five days a week, with averagely 18 teaching hours per week, complying with DMU's calendar. And the working contents include teaching oral, writing, listening and reading English/Japanese and assessing students’ performance.
Accordingly, we would provide a reasonable salary and benefits. During the contract period, you will be provided and are expected to live in a well-furnished apartment on campus by DMU, equipped with furniture, beddings, air conditioner, refrigerator and basic cooking utensils.

Dalian maritime University is one of the 100 National Key Universities. It is part of the Ministry of Transport and is recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as one of the world’s leading maritime universities.
DMU's curriculum has a multi-disciplinary framework for the coordinated development of science, engineering, management, literature, economics, law, and philosophy and has constructed a unique talent cultivation model with distinctive maritime features.
The university occupies an area of 1.5 square kilometers with well-equipped teaching and laboratory buildings, maritime training and research centers, water survival training facilities, training docks, libraries, a swimming pool and planetarium. It has over 40 laboratories for teaching and research including, Navigation Dynamic Simulation and Control Laboratory, Cabin Experiment Laboratory and Ship Maintenance Engineering Laboratory. DMU owns and operates two ocean-going training vessels, Yukun and Yulong, both over 10,000 Ton deadweight. To further support our teaching a multi-purpose cargo ship with capacity of 30.000 tons is currently under construction.
DMU consists of 16 schools and departments with 51 undergraduate major studies. It has a teaching staff of 1042, including 286 professors and 122 full-time doctoral supervisors. In the nautical schools, 77% of the teachers have CoCs, and 25% of these teachers have the qualifications of captains or chief engineers. Amongst Chinese maritime institutions, DMU enjoys the highest proportion of a teaching staff with practical seagoing service.
DMU's rapid development has attracted the attention of internationally famous scholars and experts both at home and abroad. The university shares six academics with other institutions, and has engaged three Changjiang Scholars, as well as 69 chair professors and 410 visiting professors. In 2011, President Thomas Boni Yayi of the Republic of Benin visited DMU and was appointed guest professor. The significant presence of international scholars brings vigor and vitality to the university’s teaching and research.
The university has two key national programs and thirteen programs at provincial level, one national-level research center for engineering technology, and 17 key laboratories of provincial and ministerial levels. DMU offers 33 PhD programs, 90 master degree programs, and six post-doctoral programs.
