Content Manager, APAC (Location:Pudong Area, Shanghai)
Role Specification:
1. Overall Purpose of the role:
The ideal candidate plays a pivotal role in the development of creative and compelling content that increases awareness and brand visibility, drives demand generation and enhances audience engagement. He/She should have proven ability to write persuasively and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as cross-functional teams and external organizations.
2. Core Responsibilities:
• Conceive, write and deliver compelling, keyword-rich, actionable content for a range of mediums - online, digital, social, mobile and print.
• Write content that creates a user-friendly experience for the reader
• Synthesize complex technical content into compelling actionable content that produces high response and optimal search rates
• Work closely with the stakeholders, own the content creation and optimization process end-to-end from initial concept to strategy, approvals, fact-checking, key wording, editing and final proofing.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure content is factually correct, consistent and clear
• Be the advocate of the company’s voice and tone, ensuring that content produced adheres to the company Style Guide.
Qualifications:
3. Experience Required:
• 2+ years proven writing and editing experience, both technical and creative
• 2 years minimum experience working with SEO content and content management
• Familiarity with eBay is preferred
• Knowledge of online payment processing or credit-card merchant accounts and/or e-commerce
• Ability to organize and synthesize information from multiple sources
• Ability to write content, copy and messaging in variety of styles, voices and tones, adaptable to different target audiences, product and branding initiatives
• Prior experience as a marketing copywriter strongly preferred
• Marketing experience is a plus
4. Education: University degree in communications, linguistics, marketing or related field with strong academic track record.
5. Skills:
• Outstanding communication and writing skills
• Excellent command of English and another APAC language (written and spoken).
• Experience using a Content Management System
• Ability to build strong working relationships with peers locally and overseas
• Strong project management skills
• Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented
• Quick learner that is flexible and able to react quickly to change
• Ability to calmly and methodically handle high volumes of work within tight deadlines
• Creative, proactive and eager to learn about global users and their behaviors
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects, timelines and deliverables
• High energy and internal drive to deliver great results
• Team player that works well in a collaborative environment
