Dipont Educations seeks to appoint two elementary specialists from August 2017 to play a key role in training bilingual Chinese pre-school and elementary teachers for positions in their new school developments scheduled to open in September 2018. The positions will be based in Nanjing and be managed by the Senior Teacher Trainer but there will be a requirement to travel within China to observe teachers during placements and to support them once the new schools are operational. The initial contract will be for two years but it is hoped that individuals will consider a longer tenure as further new school developments are envisaged. The initial period of appointment from August 2017 till February 2018 will involve research and course development in readiness for the commencement of the first training programme.
•To work initially as part of a team of four (2 Overseas specialists; 2 Chinese specialists) under the guidance of the Senior Teacher Trainer.
•To research thoroughly the Chinese National Curriculum at pre-school and elementary levels including observing typical classroom teaching at these levels.
•To review an existing bilingual pre-school scheme of work.
•To write schemes of work for lower and upper elementary age groups to enable the Chinese National Curriculum requirements to be met via a team teaching structure where Chinese staff would deliver a Humanities, Chinese Language and Culture strand whilst overseas hired teachers would focus on English, Maths and Science.
•To design a training programme featuring the best aspects of modern age-related pedagogy and deliver theory sessions to complement the teaching placements.
•To liaise regularly with the schools in which teaching placements have been arranged for teacher trainees.
•To provide specific English language training relevant to classroom management.
•To monitor and assess the progress of teachers.
•To provide support and ‘on-the-job’ training as required from September 2018 for overseas-hired teachers in the areas of English, Maths and Science.
•To be involved in the future recruitment of Chinese teacher trainees.
•Sound experience of teaching based on UK National Curriculum
•Experience of curriculum development and in-service delivery at pre-school and/or elementary level.
•Typical background will be Head of Year, Curriculum Coordinator or advanced Skills Teacher
•Passion for teaching with the ability to inspire young Chines staff to teach in a pupil-centred manner.
•Ability to live and work in a Chinese culture and build positive relationships with Chinese staff
Dipont Education offers an attractive compensation and benefit package based on the candidates’ academic qualifications and work experience. The starting gross salary will be RMB 410,000 (Approximately 48,000 at current exchange rate) with a tax rate around 20%. Housing allowance, annual return air fare and medical insurance are additional benefits.
This positon will be based in Nanjing for the preparation of the opening of school from 09/2017 to 08/2018 and then based in the newly opened school in Shenzhen.
