The main task of the Academic Director is to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the Academic department. This will include the following:

 Liaising with both Academic department and Client Service Project Coordinators regarding the status and progress of ongoing training projects.
 Checking and ensuring the quality of all course materials provided to clients.
 Ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards of training quality, by organizing regular class observations, trainer evaluations and performance reviews.
 Liaising with Sales staff regarding future or potential projects, providing advice and guidance regarding Academic content for said projects.
 Collaborating with Project Coordinators and Sales staff in the design and preparation of training materials, suitably tailored to clients’ needs.
 Organizing and delivering in-house training sessions for Oxford Centeriver employees.
 Maintaining high standards of professionalism in the Academic Department, as laid out in the “Trainers Code of Conduct”
 Working with other members of the Oxford Centeriver Management team to ensure the successful operation and smooth running of the business.

In addition to their managerial responsibilities, the Academic Director is also an active member of the Academic faculty, responsible for delivering approximately 40 hours of corporate Business English training per month. Training responsibilities include:

 Delivering business English and professional skills training courses to corporate clients, at the client’s place of work, in one-on-one, small group and workshop settings.
 Using designated course materials to plan and prepare stimulating and effective lessons, tailored to suit the needs of the individual or group.
 Preparing and delivering demonstration classes to clients.
 Ensuring class attendance reports are correctly filled in and submitted on time. (All reports from the previous week should be submitted by 12pm on the Monday following the week in which the class was taught.)
 Monitoring students progress, both in class and on online practice platforms (when applicable), and liaising with the relevant project coordinator or the Academic Director regarding any emergent issues requiring academic support.
 Ensuring that student mid-course and final reports are completed and submitted by the deadline, one week after the end of the course. Trainers teaching VIP students are also required to submit monthly progress reports, which are brief summaries of the course content, student participation and attendance, and any comments.
