VIPKID is seeking a Manager/Director of Business Development to work closely with marketing, recruiting, and management teams to support the online ESL/elementary teacher recruitment process.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
• Has a genuine passion for teaching and education.
• Can understand which teachers we should target, where to find them, and can recruit them successfully.
• Is able to think outside the box; creatively leveraging both internal and external stakeholders/resources, which achieve work objectives and key results.
• Is agile when working with partners to enhance teacher acquisitions and has a proven track record in supporting business growth and customer acquisitions through partnerships.
• Is insightful, creative, and has a strong growth mindset to persistently pursue our exponentially increasing teacher recruitment goals.
• Is comfortable navigating a cross-cultural, cross-time zone, and ever-changing work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Generate teacher application leads not limited to, but within large teachers communities, social media groups, key thought leaders, enterprise/companies with a large number of teacher users, and stay at home parents.
• Collaborate, identify, and work with current and new recruitment partners to generate teacher leads.
• Identify, creatively structure, negotiate, close, and manage deals that will grow a rapidly expanding online teacher base
• Work closely with marketing, product, teacher recruitment, and teacher community teams to ensure implementation of deals and the growth of existing partnerships.
• Support the branding, marketing, and PR team’s efforts
• Collaborate with market BD leads to inform and guide strategy based on global context
Qualifications:
• 5 to 7 years of experience in business development or related field.
• Proven track record of meeting customer acquisition goals through partnerships.
• Previous experience working with products that provide services to individual customers at a large scale.
• Comprehensive understanding of user growth strategies and partnership models.
• Proven ability to operate in a collaborative cross-functional team environment.
• Good analytical skills and comfortable in a heavy metrics-driven environment.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting term sheets and negotiating multi-faceted partnerships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
• Strong personal initiative with proven ability to execute with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
