The ESL teacher will be responsible for planning lessons and activities, to primary/middle
school students that have low level English skills. The will be expected to motivate
and encourage students through a creative teaching approach. To be a successful ESL teacher, you should be able to create an environment that
is conducive to learning. An effective ESL teacher will also encourage students to
interact with each other to improve their English- speaking skills.
Reports to: Head of Department
Key Job Specifications:
• Salary (ex. benefits) – 22,000-35,000RMB/month (pre-tax)
• Working Hours – 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday)
• Teaching Hours – 25 lessons/week
• Grades/Curriculum – Grades 8-12
• Accommodation allowance– 4,000 RMB/month
• Meal allowance • Flight Reimbursement – Round trip ticket
• Visa – Work Permit, Residence Permit, the notary/authentication fees can be
reimbursed with qualified receipt/invoice
• Insurance – Social insurance and commercial insurance • Paid Leave – National holidays/ Christmas holidays/Winter holidays/Summer
holidays
• Sick Leave – 5 days paid sick leave per year
• Additional Bonuses – Free tuition fee for the first child, 80% discount for the
second child
Qualifications and Requirements:
• 24-58 years of age
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education/related subjects or having teaching
certificates
• A good grasp of the methodology of teaching related subjects
• Have an understanding and ability to teach pupils of all abilities
• Previous experience in an international school preferred

Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct activities and lessons based on ESL teaching methodologies. Focusing on these four strands:
1. Reading
2. Listening
3. Speaking
4. Writing • Encouraging and engaging students to speak in English. • Motivating students and using humor to induce a pleasant learning
environment.
• Maximizing students’ talk time through oral tests and presentations. • Display good classroom management.
• Keep accurate records on student performance.
• Provide regular feedback to pupils and parents.
• Communicate with the HOD or Principal, as needed.
• Be able to manage or work together with other ESL teaching staff.
• Offer an after school club based on your skills and interests.
• Get involved with the House
