The First High School of Changsha is one of "the Elite Middle Schools" in Hunan. The school is a large and prestigious institute with over 6000 students. Mao Zedong is counted among it's graduates and the school currently has foreign members of Staff. The ages of our students range from 15-18.

Job Description:
We are searching for staff to work in our international department teaching the GAC (Global Assessment Certificate) and AP course to students wishing to study abroad at university level. We are an authorized Test Center for the ACT (American College Testing) examination which is taken by over 50% of students all around the world wishing to study in the USA, and are an approved AP school from college board.

The Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) program which is the world’s most recognized university preparation program for students who do not have English as their first language. The GAC consists of three levels of study. The GAC curriculum focuses on developing and improving your English language proficiency and consists of English, Mathematics, Computing, Business, Science and Social Science supported by systematic study of learning skills for success at university. Our program has International Standard Curriculum/ Text books and Facilitator guides for teachers provided.

Teaching role:
We have full-time openings for teachers specializing in English, Math, Economics and Science at high school level.

Requirements:

1. Our staff must be native English speakers from the UK, Canada, the USA, Australia o r New Zealand.

2. Applicants must hold a valid passport and at least a bachelor’s degree.

3. Applicants should have at least 3 years teaching experience.Chinese teaching experience is highly preferred.

4. Applicants with teaching certificates or majors in education are highly preferred.

5. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree plus TESOL/CELTA/TEFL certification and two years teaching experience.

Benefits:

1. Remuneration will be 10000 RMB per month.
2. A bonus will be paid at the conclusion of the contract in order to help with travel costs or to be used at your discretion.
3. Optional teaching assignments will be available during holidays with extra pay.
4. Furnished accommodation will be provided and the utility allowance will be 500 RMB per month.
5. Accident insurance will be arranged for our teachers
6. The school will be responsible for arranging the suitable working (Z) visa and residency permits.
