Background
Griffin International Academy: GreatChina’s first residential k-12 school located in Longquan District, Chengdu will open its doors in Sept 2018. With the investment of 200 million RMB, Griffin plans to take in 800 students (300 for Grade 1~ 6, 100 for Grade 7~8 and 400 for Grade 9~12). Griffin covers approx 54,512 sq. meters (81.85 mu) of land.

Job Descriptions:
 Responsible social studies teacher and primary homeroom teacher
 Plans and prepares lessons, assignments, instructional materials for Science; and shows written evidence of preparation upon request
 Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests for success in higher science courses
 Participate in curriculum writing and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and provides input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods;
 Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and communicate those objectives to students
 Prepares, administers and corrects evaluations and assessments, and records results;
 Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests for success in higher courses
 Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives
 Selects and uses appropriate instructional strategies including, but not limited to, lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multimedia teaching aids to present subject matter to students
 Attends and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and provides input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods.
 Confers with parents and students regarding progress/problems of assigned students; arranges and participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary;
 Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities;
 Occasionally cover class for a colleague. Manages a study hall as needed
 Plans at least one extra-curricular activity for students. Promotes cross-cultural understanding among students
 Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:
 Teachers with excellent academic literacy in English, and excellent verbal and written English language skills.
 Bachelor degree of liberal arts related subjects a Teacher Certification/ Qualification
 At least two years of teaching experience in related subject
 Previous experience of teaching with an ESL, or start-up environment will be advantageous
 Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
 An effective teaching practitioner with evidence of good classroom practice.
 Strong working knowledge of an international curriculum.
 A clear focus on standards to raise achievement.
 Committed to protecting and safeguarding children.
 Maintains energy, enthusiasm, teamwork, and a sense of humor


Compensation Package: 2000-3000USD/Month before tax; free housing(villa style);free meals during academic year; visa sponsorship; business insurance etc.
