Guangdong Baiyun University (baiyunU) is a progressive university of applied technology in Guangdong Province (near Hong Kong and Macao), China. It sets for itself the internationalisation of education as a leading strategy for its development. We need international academics to participate in and share the development and progress of the University and to enjoy working and life in China.
There are 12 faculties, such as Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Accounting, Faculty of Applied Economics, Faculty of Megadata and Computing, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of New Media, Faculty of Arts and Design, Faculty of International Programs and so on.
The University welcomes interested and qualified applicants to undertake teaching positions in foreign languages (English, Japanese, Korean and German) and other disciplinary areas of applied economics, accounting, finance and business administration.
Successful applicants will be required to teach for at least 18 hours per week with a monthly balance of 72 teaching hours.
Any teaching hours exceeding the monthly balance will be paid at an overtime rate.
Applicants will be expected to participate in academic and some on-campus activities as per teaching academic at the University
CORE PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the teaching classes be well-organized and delivered for purposeful activity throughout the teaching sessions.
Implement and comply with the standards of academic work practices, reviews, reflections and evaluations.
Show your great care and support to students, promote motivated learning and teaching styles by catering individual differences, and engage in rigorous, relevant, and significant teaching and learning activities.
Establish clear instructional objectives, set up relevant teaching and learning activities, use relevant and useful teaching resources, and deliver tangible teaching and learning outcomes.
Assess and analyze student learning progress to improve teaching and provide constructive feedback to students for their progress towards learning objectives.
Understand, respect, and appreciate differences in learning and/or university culture.
Participate in academic and social activities at faculty and the university.
Work cooperatively with fellow-staff members and administrators.
Be accountable and reliable for academic duties.
Attend staff meetings, teacher workdays and professional development activities as assigned or recommended.
Contribute to extracurricular activities on a regular basis.
Comply with the laws, regulations and rules of China
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
22-60 Years of Age
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
TEFL/TESOL certification minimum (CELTA/DELTA/PGCE/QTS preferred for teaching a foreign language)
Demonstrated understanding and ability to teach students of differing competencies
Previous teaching experience in an educational institution in China preferred
English teaching positions preferably for candidates from English speaking countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand

Normally, the fall semester begins in early September and the spring semester begins in early March. Therefore, it is strongly advised that the applicant submit applications at least 3 months in advance.
