With offices in Los Angeles and Shanghai, American Education Advisors (AEA) is recruiting Economics Teachers for our partner schools in Fuzhou and across 40+ cities in China. Classes are conducted in English and start in late August.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering lessons that foster knowledge and generate excitement for economics
- Teaching the fundamentals of economics, including macroeconomics, microeconomics and international economics
- Teaching various topics in economics, including scarcity, economic systems, money, productivity, labor, cost-benefit analysis, economic institutions, trade, gross domestic product, business cycles, inflation, unemployment, fiscal & monetary policy, supply & demand
- Utilizing curriculum that includes a combination of lectures, reading assignments, group discussions and hands-on projects
- Initiating, facilitating, and moderating classroom discussions
- Managing small and large groups of students in a classroom setting
- Investing in students' well-being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and emotionally
- Communicating effectively with students, parents, school administrators and other staff
- Preparing course materials in economics such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
- Evaluating and grading students' classwork, assignments, and papers
- Documenting student attendance, grades, and other required records
- Utilizing classroom technologies, internet and email systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
SALARY
- 28,000 - 33,000 Chinese Yuan per month (i.e., $50,000 - $57,000 per year)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 2 years of full-time teaching experience
- Teachers over 60 are not eligible due to China's work visa policies
- Ability to speak Chinese is NOT required
- Experience teaching at least one of the following is preferred, but NOT always required: International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced Level (A-Level), IGCSE
