Full-time drama teacher responsibilities:
ζั͡✿ Drama Teacher develops in each student, as individuals and in groups, a positive and supportive learning environment for dramatic development.
ζั͡✿ Requires a deep understanding of and desire to work with students of different age groups thorough understanding of the curricular elements of dramatic studies, an ability to enable self-exploration and expression through the arts and a hand-ons approach to theater practice, including, but not limited to: scene study, improvisation, stage management, script-writing, and performance.
ζั͡✿ Drama Teacher is a proven collaborator, skilled at working with others, with strong interpersonal skills. They are expected to utilize all resources available to establish a cooperative relationship with parents, staff members and administrators to support each students opportunity to learn and grow in educational and life experiences.
Teaching responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
ζั͡✿ Elementary drama, Advanced Drama, Public Speaking. Plans, rehearses, and directs students in a variety of performance opportunities.Utilizes repertoire of all types of literature, including traditional and contemporary that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students.
ζั͡✿ Differentiate drama curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.Plans a balanced drama program, and organizes daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal/activities and instruction can be accomplished with the allotted time.
ζั͡✿ Develops and refines drama curriculum based on Earlybirds Curriculum Frameworks guiding principles.
ζั͡✿ Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide a safe, productive environment during class, rehearsals, and performances.Evaluates each students growth and contribution that allows everyone to contribute.
ζั͡✿ Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned performance space, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.Cooperates with other professional staff members to identify student needs.Creates an effective learning environment.
ζั͡✿ Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
