Freinet Education Centre of Hangzhou is the first Freinet kindergarten in China. It is recognized by the international Federation of Freinet Movement (FIMEM), which includes Freinet schools throughout the world. Our children come from several countries and learn practical life and social skills as well as Language (Chinese, English, French), Writing, Art, Science, Math, etc. in a non-traditional way. Our English-speaking teacher work with a Chinese and a and French teammate and lead small, twenty minute workshops (classes) in this variety of subjects using their mother tongues, as well as work with the children throughout the day to develop their life and social skills.
Our two locations in Hangzhou are situated in parks and have been designed to create a family atmosphere in which the children can learn.
We are looking for native English speaking teacher who have more than tow years' kindergarten experience and are open-minded about education. About us
Freinet Education Centre is the only school in China that collaborates with the Institut Freinet de Vence and the Fédération Internationale des Mouvements d’Ecole Moderne (FIMEM) to apply and promote Freinet pedagogy.
Freinet pedagogy was created by the French educator Célestin Freinet. It starts from the children's work, interests and personality, and uses techniques such as free expression, communication, environmental analysis, individualization, organization and cooperative life, to develop children's skills like personal plans, groups cooperation, and creativity, so they love to learn and create.
It’s a pedagogy that enables the children of present days to act in tomorrow’s world.
Freinet Education Centre’s practical and reliable courses are designed in three languages (Chinese, English and French): science, art, social codes, language and sports aiming children from two to six years old.
The Centre contacts schools from other countries to do the inter-school correspondence. We also recommend and organize a number of international cultural activities.
The Centre also provides weekend courses in English, French, and art with small class, and the Freinet pedagogical training for teachers.
