PYP Coordinator Job Description
PYPC responsibilities to set up/organize/review/communicate:
1. Mission statement
2. Long-term plans
a) IB plans based on Authorization report + Action Plan + upcoming IB review. b) PD long-term plans
3. School policies:
a) Collaboration policy
b) Language policy
c) SEN Policy
d) Assessment policy
e) Classroom decoration policy
f) Managebac (weekly plans, collaboration, portfolios, assessments, newsletters etc.)
4. Schedules
a) Daily schedule for parents
b) Detailed daily schedule for teachers with times for collaboration/preparation time etc.
c) Yearly Calendar for parents which includes parent workshops
d) Yearly Calendar for teachers with times for reflection, pd, special events, when to buy new materials etc.
5. Scope & Sequence
a) IB + Chinese government scope and sequence have been merged to form our SLSK scope and sequence. (It will need more fine-tuning)
b) To discuss with Primary school principal to improve continuity.
6. Curriculum
a) Managebac: UOI planning, weekly plans, weekly description, Report cards. b) Weekly collaboration meetings for POI/UOI planning
c) English curriculum
d) Schedule moments for reflection on UOI’s and POI
e) Holiday activities
7. Classroom design
a) Overal structure (ensure walls have the fabric on it for student work, spacious and light, carpets/mats/pillows, toys tagged bilingually, interactive whiteboards)
b) Classroom materials (address: closed / open-ended, individual/group, stimulate inquiry etc. See classroom design policy)
c) UOI specific materials gathered/bought for each UOI.

8. New Teacher Training
a) Starts during the interview by explaining what is expected of teachers at our school, the responsibilities.

Salary and Benefits Package:
1. Monthly salary:15000-27000 before tax, depending on qualification and experience.
2. Holidays: Chinese public holidays.
3. Housing: 5000 RMB for the house per month
4. Airfare allowance: 8,000RMB a year after fulfillment of the one-year contract
5. Free meals in the canteen on work days
6. International Medical Insurance
8. Bonus 10% of the year base salary RMB on the last day of the Academic Year.
