ROLE
Management and Leadership
Participate as a member of Senior Leadership Team and advise on the school operations and
strategic planning .
Lead the students and staff in their sectors, building the school Ethos, inculcating clear
behaviour expectations , and managing staff and students’ conduct.
Lead best practice in development and implementation of IB PYP curriculum\Cambridge
curriculum and oversee the effectiveness of overall IB PYP Cambridge curriculum
implementation.
Provide regular, quality advice to the School Principal in all matters related to the sectors’
operations, including budget advice.
Maintain good management of departments, assisting in assessing projected expenditure,
staffing and resourcing needs.
Lead and manage staff professional development in their sectors, cooperation with the IB
teams.
Provide day to day teaching staff management, performance appraisals, lesson observations,
mentoring, advising the School Principal on all matters of staff performance, professional
development and support needs of staff in the appropriate sectors.
Participate in teaching staff recruitment and selection for their sectors.
Contribute to and lead Parent Education Programmes, including workshops, PSA Meetings and
Open Houses as appropriate.
Provide leadership for accreditation processes in the sector as required– not limited to CIS
review, IB Application, Authorization, IB reaccreditation process,Cambridge Edexcel
authorization.
Lead and participate in managing events, such as Assemblies, Exams, Camps, Open Days, Parent
Teacher Interviews, productions, performances and Residential Journeys both within China and
overseas.
Model, lead and develop expectations of the School Staff Handbook with all sector staff and
students
Contribute to, monitor and participate in the review of policies, operating procedures and
general school operations.
Lead the development and updating of sector strategic plans and ensure that the sector is
working towards meeting the goals of the School Action Plans
Contribute to and guide the review and updating of sector staff, student and parent handbooks
Lead the sector in implementing the expectations of the Staff Handbook and curriculum
standards practice.
Work to resolve parental issues, ensuring that the School Principal fully appraised of any issues.
Provide leadership to plan and implement the INSET for the sector as part of the SLT for the
school at the beginning of each year, organizing staff induction, team building, timetables and
training.
Qualifications
Formal teaching qualification required, e.g. Bachelor's degree in Education; Master's degree in
Education/Leadership advantageous
Teaching qualification in IB ,Cambridge (IG&A-level)(preferably),having rich teaching
experience,at least 5 years experience in relevant leadership roles
Qualified Teacher Status (necessary)
Proactive, team-orientated, socially adept and committed to children’s well-being.
Commitment to and understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding.
Clean and clear background check(necessary)
Good sense of homour, resilient, persistent, healthy and committed to living in China.
Understand the advanced educational and teaching concepts of International Education; be
familiar with national education.
Strong communication and expression skills, dignified appearance, decent manners, a strong
sense of responsibility and leadership.
