School Description
Elan is a provider of English language arts training services for children aged 5-15 in China. The first Elan school opened its doors in March 2013. Presently, there are 20 Elan schools operating in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Foshan. In early 2016, Elan School was acquired by Country Garden Education Group (now rebranded as Bright Scholar Education Group, a publicly-listed company on the NYSE), one of China's largest education providers, serving over 30,000 students and employing 60,000 staff members.
Job Description
- Job Title: English Literature and Reading Teacher
- Responsibilities: Teaching English Literature, General English and English Reading
- Location1: WJ/ Wangjing Campus - F3, Tower 2, Building C, Wangjing SOHO, Chaoyang District, Beijing
- Start Date for WJ: End of September, 2024
- Location2: XY/ Xiangyun Campus - Xiangyun Town, Shunyi District, Beijing (A vibrant international community in Beijing)
- Start Date for XY: September/ October, 2024
- Location3: TJ/ Tianjie Campus – F1, Runcheng Center, No.12 Dongdaqiao Rd. Chaoyang District, Beijing
- Start Date for TJ: Immediate/ ASAP, and after National Day Holiday
- Students: Ages 3-15
- Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Fridays: 11:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Weekends: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Off on Wednesdays and Thursdays for WJ and XY; Tuesdays and Wednesdays for TJ.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: RMB 18,000 - 28,000 (Negotiable based on experience and professionalism)
- Flight Reimbursement: Up to RMB 8,000 annually
- Insurance: Commercial Insurance
- Annual Leave: 5 Days
- Fully Paid Sick Leave: 3 Days per year
- Contract Renewal Bonus: Up to 50% of monthly salary (Based on annual performance)
- Extra Monthly Bonus: Up to RMB 0 ~ 11,000 (Based on class hours, students, and student renewal rate)

- Group Team Building: Team building trips, parties, Chinese culture forums, experiencing Chinese traditional holidays, etc.
*Please note that this is a benefit package; all other benefits are in addition to the monthly salary.
Requirements
1. Experience: Professional English teaching experience
2. Language: Native English speakers preferred; experienced non-native speakers are also welcome

Elan Schools are a subsidiary organization of Bright Scholar Education Group that provide international enrichment programs as extracurricular training coursework for Chinese K-G8 local and international students. Elan's curriculum is designed to improve students’ language skills, thinking skills, problem solving abilities and knowledge of global culture. A core feature of any Elan School is their multi-colored libraries that are organized with between 6,000-10,000 audio and regular storybooks that are arranged according to their grade equivalent reading level (GE). Inside the library, a guided reading program is utilized with the assistance of Accelerated Reader and STAR Reading software on iPads which enhance students' learning and allows for advanced data collection. Alongside the guided reading program, Elan offers an Early Reader program that specializes in storytelling and phonics awareness, then more advanced Pre-Elan and Elan programs that provide literature and writing coursework to develop students to become independent English readers and master English as a lifetime language skill, enabling them to enter the best high schools and universities later in the USA and elsewhere.
