Plans and prepares lessons, assignments, instructional materials for Art; and shows written evidence of preparation upon request
Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curriculum framework, and enhance improvement skills for all students
Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction in field of specialization;
Prepares, administers and corrects evaluations and assessments, and records results;
Selects and uses appropriate instructional strategies including, but not limited to, lectures, group discussions, demonstrations, modeling and multimedia teaching aids to present subject matter to students;
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests for success in higher Art courses
Prepares, administers and corrects evaluations and assessments, and records results;
Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives
Participate in curriculum writing and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and provides input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods;
Plans at least one extra-curricular activity for students. Promote cross-cultural understanding among students
Confers with parents and students regarding progress/problems of assigned students; arranges and participates in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary;
Attends and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and provides input regarding the planning of instruction goals, objectives and methods.
Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
Essential Requirements:
Teachers with excellent academic literacy in English, and excellent verbal and written English language skills.
Bachelor degree of Art, related subjects supported with a Teacher Certification/ Qualification
At least two years of teaching experience in related subject
Previous experience of teaching with an ESL, or start-up environment will be advantageous
Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
An effective teaching practitioner with evidence of good classroom practice.
Strong working knowledge of an international curriculum.
A clear focus on standards to raise achievement.
