The Role
• Design vibrant, Common-Core-aligned lessons that turn freshmen into analytical readers and seniors into confident, purpose-driven writers.
• Guide a diverse classroom—ELL newcomers to native speakers—through project-based units, Socratic seminars, and authentic publishing opportunities.
• Collaborate with ESL specialists, STEM, and Arts colleagues to create interdisciplinary experiences that matter in the real world.
• Coach debate, poetry slams, or service-learning trips—your passion sets the co-curricular menu.
The Ideal Candidate
✓ Bachelor’s/Master’s in English, Education, or related field + valid teaching license
✓ 3+ years of high-school classroom success (experience with English-language learners preferred)
✓ Energy, empathy, and a growth mindset that students feel the moment they enter your room
