The school is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Music Teacher to join our high-performing team. The successful candidate will be an inspiring educator, capable of teaching across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), with a strong commitment to inquiry-based and practical learning in the arts.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and rigorous lessons in Music for MYP and DP.

Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that fosters a love for musical expression and appreciation.

Direct and manage school musical ensembles, performances, and productions.

Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic growth.

Collaborate effectively with the Arts department and the wider school faculty on curriculum development, pedagogical strategies, and school initiatives.

Fulfill pastoral duties as a homeroom teacher or tutor, supporting the holistic well-being and development of students.

Essential Requirements

Mandatory Qualification (Must meet one of the following):

A valid teaching qualification/license (e.g., QTS, PGCE, U.S. state license).

A Bachelor's degree in Education, preferably with a focus on Music.

Note: A postgraduate degree in Education alone (without a Bachelor's in Education or a valid teaching qualification) is not considered sufficient.

Proven, successful experience teaching the IB Music curriculum .

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

A collaborative team player with a strong commitment to contributing to the whole-school community through musical events and performances.

Monthly Salary: RMB 28,000 – 37,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
