lower Secondary English Teacher
Job Purpose:
Teach English Language in middle school. Work across academic teams, admin teams, and regional office to improve teaching ability and expertise in Secondary English.

Knowledge & Understanding:
Detailed knowledge of English Language
Experience with international curriculum (IGCSE, A-level or similar)
Knowledge of curriculum and assessment development
Planning & Setting Expectations:
Identify clear teaching objectives and lesson structures
Set demanding expectations and clear targets
Provide for students with special educational needs
Implement IEPs where applicable
Liaise with English and language learning teams
Assist with online resources, administration, and interdisciplinary course development
Teaching & Managing Student Learning:
Teach whole classes, groups, and individuals effectively
Use inquiry-based learning methods
Set high expectations for behaviour
Promote positive behaviour, self-esteem, and independent working
Assessment & Evaluation:
Use assessment for and of learning
Mark, record, and monitor student work with constructive feedback
Understand international standards and alignment
Relations with Parents & Wider Community:
Prepare high-quality reports for parents
Relate learning to real-world contexts
Build effective relationships beyond the school
Managing Own Performance & Development:
Take responsibility for professional growth
Keep up to date with pedagogy and course developments
Follow school policies and guidelines

Select and use books, IT, and other learning resources effectively
Assist in maintaining learning resources and materials inventory
Other Requirements:
Hold current Enhanced CRB Disclosure or equivalent
Comply with visa requirements
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Personal Specifications:
Bachelor's Degree and teaching qualification
Minimum 5 years teaching experience
Native English speaker
International teaching experience
Experience in a bilingual language learning environment
