About the AST
The Aptitude Scholastic Test (AST) is an international university entrance examination
developed by the Ambright Institute of Educational Research in collaboration with academics from the University of Cambridge. It assesses students across key academic subjects including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Economics. The AST is designed to provide universities with a reliable, standardised measure of academic ability across diverse curricula, while offering students a direct pathway to international higher education.
Job Purpose
As Vice Director, AST Business Development (Asia-Pacific), you will lead the expansion and
adoption of the AST across key markets in Asia-Pacific, including Asia, Australia, and New
Zealand. You will be responsible for driving institutional partnerships, increasing AST recognition among universities, and expanding the test’s market presence. This is a results-oriented role requiring both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional market expansion strategy for AST across Asia-Pacific
- Identify, engage, and secure partnerships with universities, schools, and education
organisations
- Drive institutional recognition and acceptance of AST as an admissions pathway
- Represent Ambright and AST at international conferences, education fairs, and partner
meetings
- Lead the development of targeted promotional and partnership materials
- Monitor market trends, competitor qualifications, and university admission policies
- Work closely with internal teams to align AST development with market needs
- Track and report on partnership pipeline, conversion, and regional performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Relations, Marketing, or a related field
(Master’s preferred)
- Prior experience in a university admissions office, international recruitment team, or
credential evaluation is strongly preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in higher education, international student recruitment, or partnership development
- Strong understanding of university admissions processes, entry requirements, and
international qualifications
- Proven ability to engage with universities and influence admissions-related decisions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; Mandarin is a strong advantage
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment
- Willingness to travel internationally
