THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly qualified, dedicated,
creative, adaptable and enthusiastic primary homeroom teacher for an August 2025 start.
The successful candidate will be someone who has the
ability to lead and inspire children, as well as the
willingness to support the ambition and values of the
school. Candidates with British curriculum experince are particularly encouraged to apply.

For an appropriately experienced candidate there may
be the opportunity to take on responsibility as Head
of Department or a pastoral leadership role.

CONTRACT TYPE:
Full time, two years, with the possibility of extension subject to performance
START DATE:
August 2025


PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
I. QUALIFICATION
Essential: Minimum Bachelors’ Degree in a relevant subject area
Desirable: PGCE / QTS or equivalent
II. LANGUAGE
English Native
III. EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have:
• Minimum two years’ teaching experience at a
UK or international school

IV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Essential: The successful candidate should have:
• A wide interest in their subject area and be able
to evidence their commitment to it beyond the
classroom environment
• Good communication skills
• Good teamwork and collaborative skills
• Resilience and a good sense of humour
• Fairness, kindness and warmth
• Interest in wider issues relating to student
wellbeing

IV. PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE AND CONDUCT
The successful candidate should have:
• Ability to understand, empathise with and enjoy the culture, ethos and values of our International School Chengdu
• Flexibility to learn and adapt to new cultures and situations
• A willingness to explore innovative approaches from across the educational field
• The ability to uphold the Code of Conduct of our International Schools
