Requirements:
• Master’s degree or above in Art, Art Education, or related field
• Teaching qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience teaching Visual Arts within an international curriculum, preferably including IBDP
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (HOD or equivalent)
• Experience with IB assessment and moderation
• Ability to work well in a multicultural workplace

Responsible for the following:
LEADERSHIP & CURRICULUM
•Lead the strategic development of the K-12 Visual Arts curriculum aligned with IB (PYP, MYP, DP) frameworks.
•Ensure high standards of teaching and learning through planning, observation, and evaluation.
•Develop and implement consistent assessment practices across the department.
•Manage departmental resources, budget, and studio spaces.
•Lead collaborative planning and professional dialogue within the team.

TEACHING
•Teach IBDP Visual Arts
•Guide students through Comparative Study, Process Portfolio, and Exhibition.
Prepare students for IB internal and external assessments.
•Support strong academic outcomes and high-quality portfolios.

STAFF LEADERSHIP
•Lead, mentor, and evaluate teaching staff within the department.
•Support professional development and teacher growth.
•Build a collaborative and reflective team culture.
STUDENT ENRICHMENT
•Organise exhibitions, art events, and cross-disciplinary projects.
•Develop partnerships with galleries and cultural institutions.
•Support students applying to art-related university programmes.

    The Overseas Chinese Academy of Concord, Suzhou (OCAC for short), was founded in 2016 in Suzhou Industrial Park with strong support from the local government. We were the first school in China designed for returnee families, overseas Chinese, and families seeking a Chinese-rooted international education for their children.

    Located by the beautiful Jinji Lake, about 30 minutes from Shanghai by high-speed train, we opened in 2017 and have since grown into a full K–12 private school with around 400 staff and 2,000 students.

    We offer a bilingual program that combines the Chinese National Curriculum with international frameworks such as IB and Cambridge. We are fully authorized for IB PYP, MYP, and DP, making us a full IB World School.

    Overall, we focus on developing students with a global perspective while keeping them rooted in Chinese culture.
