A well-established international school in Guangzhou is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary Art Teacher to join its teaching team from August 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Art specialist who is passionate about creativity, visual expression, inquiry-based learning, and student development. The successful candidate will teach primary-aged learners within an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) environment and collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities :
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate Art and Design lessons for primary-aged students
Use inquiry-based teaching strategies to encourage creativity, curiosity, and student agency
Support students in developing artistic techniques, visual literacy, confidence, and self-expression
Plan differentiated learning experiences that meet the needs of individual learners
Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and improve teaching outcomes
Integrate digital tools and appropriate creative resources where relevant
Contribute to the development and refinement of the Art curriculum
Participate in collaborative planning with subject and grade-level teams
Support transdisciplinary learning within the IB PYP framework
Create a safe, inclusive, caring, and visually engaging classroom environment
Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
Contribute to exhibitions, clubs, co-curricular activities, field trips, school events, and seasonal programmes

Requirements :
Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience
Strong understanding of primary-aged learners and their creative development
Passion for education, visual arts, and student wellbeing
Ability to work collaboratively within an international teaching team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
International-mindedness and intercultural awareness
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Willingness to contribute to the wider academic and co-curricular life of the school

Qualifications
Native English speaker only
Bachelor’s degree or above in Art, Art Education, Fine Arts, Design, or a closely related field
Recognised teaching qualification, such as BEd, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching license
Evidence of continuous professional development
Previous IB PYP experience preferred
Previous overseas or international school teaching experience preferred
Strong spoken and written English
Confident using digital tools and creative resources to support teaching and learning
