About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of English to lead our English department at a well-known K12 school in Nantong. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to shape the strategic direction of the English curriculum, inspire a team of teachers, and deliver outstanding learning outcomes for students following the IGCSE and A-Level programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and vision for the English department across IGCSE and A-Level.

Oversee curriculum planning, development, and delivery to ensure high academic standards.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of English teachers, promoting professional growth and collaboration.

Monitor student progress and implement effective strategies to raise achievement.

Ensure teaching practices align with international education standards and school policies.

Collaborate with school leadership on academic planning and departmental development.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

Requirements

Native English speaker.

Bachelor's degree or above in English, Education, or a related field preferred.

Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) preferred.

Proven experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level English.

Previous leadership or departmental management experience.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to continuous improvement and student success.
