As our global team continues to grow rapidly, we are in search of an experienced Footwear Color Developer with advanced knowledge of color theory, project management experience, and a relentless attention to detail.

What you will do:
• Collaborate cross functionally with Guangzhou and US design + development teams to ensure color and design specifications are accurately executed from sampling stages to production
• Manage multiple projects concurrently; clearly and efficiently communicate ideas and timelines to the footwear design and development teams
• Stay current on new fabric trends, finishes, color processes and technologies; share relevant information with all cross functional teams
• Collaborate with footwear + graphics teams as well as other product categories to establish and deliver cohesive color and graphics
• Execute and track incoming color submits; assess pass/fail on incoming colors to ensure color consistency - visually (light box) and electronically (spectrophotometer) from multiple sources and across different product categories
• Work with the development and production teams to ensure decisions are made within calendar deadlines
• Initiate, review, and approve all fabric lab dips
• Advise on color risks such as color achievability and color fastness
• Investigate and resolve color issues that arise in partnership with QC, Production Teams, and Suppliers
• Maintain an accurate color library/archive, data, submits and references in PLM database
• Suggest process + development efficiency opportunities; implement appropriate solutions through cross collaborative efforts
• Participate in weekly evening calls (1-2/week) with development and production teams in China
• ~5 - 20% regional and international travel required post-pandemic, pending account assignments
What we’re looking for:
• 3 - 5+ years of footwear design + development experience, preferably athletic footwear
• Knowledge of color theory, footwear manufacturing and construction methods, textile manufacturing, fabrication performance properties, dyeing, and finishing techniques
• Must have superior color sensibility; ability to gauge hue and value, i.e. matching colors across all components and / or graphics
• Must have an error score of 10 or less on Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Test - no color vision deficiency
• Technology proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, and G-Suite; willingness to learn additional platforms and software
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and move between them quickly
• Demonstrated, strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English language
• Valid passport or ability to apply for one
