Senior English Coordinator

Responsibilities and tasks:
1. To provide a role model of exemplary teaching within the department.
2. To plan implement and review the curriculum within the framework of the School's declared aims and objectives and in accordance with the guidance from the headmaster.
3. To oversee teaching within the department through the coordination of schemes of work and publishing of a comprehensive departmental handbook.
4. To liaise with school staff involved in the teaching of their subject area to affect a coordinated provision for the students.
5. To ensure the effective monitoring of student performance within the development.
6. To be responsible for all assessments conducted internally within the subject area.
7. To ensure that students work is regularly assessed and their achievements recorded centrally.
8. To manage the ordering, storage and use of materials equipment books et cetera in association with the school management.
9. To support members of the department who may have problems with individual students or classes.
10. To chair regular team department meetings and ensure that meeting minutes are taken with copies to the headmaster.
11. To attend senior management team meetings and play an active and supporting role in the development of the school.
12. To implement all published school policies.
13. To supervise the use and care of all teaching spaces assigned to the department including adherence to relevant health and safety regulations.
14. To ensure that the department's teaching area where designated presents a stimulating learning environment.
15. To raise awareness of ESL techniques and ESL students’ needs among all teaching staff and provide appropriate in-house training, advice and support.
16. To work closely with the school counsellors to support students in preparing their personal statements for university applications.

Working hours: 8-5 Monday to Friday
Salary : 30000-35000 rmb/month plus free housing and other benefits.
Summer vacation July and August, winter vacation one month.
