Requirements:
‣Native English Speaker, preferably British citizen
‣Over 2 years proven same job role experience
‣Excellent leadership and management skills
‣Have deep understanding of EYFS curriculum

Duties and Responsibilities:
General
‣Under the direction of the Board and work closely with the General Principal and Deputy Head to follow and implement the relevant national laws and kindergarten regulations;
‣To create a warm and harmonious learning community and environment, appropriate for Early Years Education.

Academic
‣To be responsible for the international academic management and organization of the Kindergarten, specifically with reference to the EYFS and to support the Chinese Deputy Head in the implementation of the Chinese Guidelines for Early Education and the Shanghai Second Curriculum Reform with CA features.
‣To have an in-depth understanding of the EYFS Curriculum and a working knowledge of the Shanghai Kindergarten Curriculum (Second Reform Version)and to implement the agreed CA featured bi-lingual curriculum that integrates both Chinese and Western culture;
‣In conjunction with the General Principal and Deputy Head to develop, implement and monitor the daily timetable.
‣To conduct daily supervision on the School’s academic/teaching management, which includes quality control, curriculum development and implemention, etc.
‣Work along with the Deputy Head to conduct special weeks and events such as Book Week, Sports Day and so on, etc.
‣To be committed to student progress. Working with all teaching staff to closely monitor the progress of each individual child and cohort of children;
‣To develop and implement internal and external monitoring of academic performance evaluate results and feedback; to adjust and improve the standard of teaching and learning
throughout the Kindergarten;
‣To be well-informed of the latest developments in pre-school education both in China and abroad, to create an environment that promotes free development and independent learning within the child.;

Leadership and Management
‣To support the overall daily management of the kindergarten, including teacher management, recruitment, branding, health&safety, and so on;
‣To support student enrollment and brand marketing; to closely cooperate with the Admission and Marketing Departments implementing enrollment plans, and assisting in marketing activities in order to achieve the recruitment targets set by the Board. Key admission and marketing events will include;Parent Information Mornings,Meet the family Sessions, School Open Day, promotion and activities in compounds and the occasional School Exhibition/ Fair.
‣To establish and revise management rules and operational procedures as required.
‣To contribute to the drafting, implementation and monitoring of the kindergarten's 3-year development plan; to be responsible for overall academic and pastoral care of students;
‣Ensure the Board are kept up to speed on all key matters relating to Curriculum implementation, student progress, academic status, parent perceptions, issues, recommendations complaints and general levels of satisfaction;

Recruitment
‣To be responsible for Foreign staff recruitment, management and their ongoing development;
‣To support staff recruitment, management and development of Chinese teaching and non-teaching staff;
‣Responsible for the training of new international staff and the regular training of staff, this should include the drafting of a Semester schedule which outlines the training to be given during the weekly staff meetings;
‣To establish a regular meeting schedule in which research and development is undertaken; to work with HR on matters relating to staff performance appraisal, promotion and training;
‣To continually strive to improve the professional skill level and promote continuous professional development of academic staff.

Health and Safety
‣To work with all parties to create a safe healthy positive bilingual educational environment
‣To ensure the security and safety of the kindergarten for pupils and staff by working closely
with the senior leadership team to ensure all Health and Safety policy and practice is implemented;
‣To serve as Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead teacher;
‣To support the School Nurse ensuring the highest of standards in nutrition and health care. Ensuring each student achieves full physical development and potential diseases are prevented and controlled

Parental Involvement
‣To work closely with the General Principal and Deputy Head and to be responsible for the overall communication with parents on matters of an academic nature ;
‣To establish regular parental communication by holding parent meetings, workshops, carry out parental surveys at key times in the year.To listen and respond accordingly to parental feedback. Implement any measures that will sustain and enhance the quality of our educational provision;

Special Course & Enrichment
‣To be responsible for the Year 1to Grade 1 transition courses and other special courses in terms of curriculum design, teacher training, staffing, qualities and so on.
‣To be responsible for the management of half-day classes and PPN classes in terms of curriculum design, teacher training, staffing, qualities and so on.
‣ To fully support our programme (ECA courses, summer camp, winter camp and so on) to be implemented in the school, including but not limited to assiting in staffing, teachers, classroom arrangement and so on;
‣To provide suggestions for our programe to make sure they are tailored to the different characteristics and development needs of students of each year groups;
‣To provide supervision and feedback on our programme so as to improve parents’ satisfaction.
