We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our team in developing new products physical structure design within the lighting industry. The ideal candidate should have an associate bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering or relative major, with plentiful new product development experience for complex mechanism design. The candidate should also have expertise in leading and guiding engineers to find solutions during new product development stages, and team management experience to achieve KPIs together with the team.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities
• Lead a Mechanical Engineering team for Lighting product ID to mechanism design.
• Design verification and troubleshooting.
• Responsible for new product design and development from NPI to Mass production.
• Monitor projects schedule to ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
• Conduct development schedule and cost analysis, review new product roadmap.
• Involve overseeing a team of design engineers, training and backup interviews.
• Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
• Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
• Passion, Proactive and Enthusiasm for product development
Qualifications/competencies:
• Degree Holder in Mechanical Engineering or relative, with a strong design background preferably in the mechanism design related area and good project management
• From 0 to 1 the concept ID aesthetic to feasibility / optimization mechanism design experience
• At least 15 years relevant experience in product design
• At least 5 years at managerial level
• Solid knowledge and experience in Plastic Injection, Metal Stamping. Die Casting, Machining process and tooling, materials with corresponding process etc.
• Rich experience on CMF and design language for product family roadmap planning
• Solid knowledge and experience in safety and regulatory standard
• Expert knowledge in using 3D CAD system (Pro-E/SolidWorks preferred) for mechanic design
• Hand-on Experience in FEA or Heatsink analysis will be an advantage
• Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Fluent English and Chinese, proficiency in German will be an advantage
• Be responsible and able to work under pressure.
