MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree
5+ years work experience in a similar position
Excellent command in written and spoken English, positive attitude, interpersonal skills, self discipline, positive attitude and dedication to teaching, willingness to contribute to or participate in student extra-curricular activities
Some Mandarin for native English speakers a plus but not required
Windows (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
English IELTS 8.0
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Teaching courses according to the academic program within the lecturer’s field of expertise
Establishing a team that enhances the quality of the language program. This includes the involvement of faculty team members in decision processes and consensus building. The establishment of a mentor system for new faculty members, and an English support club for students: This requires being a role model in all affairs related to Standard of Excellence and Academic Regulations.
Proof reading of all official materials and communication of the academic department to the outside of the college, including campus life magazine, college website, official publications (for example assessment handbook, faculty handbook, staff handbook, academic catalogue) and letters to parents.
Preparing and updating teaching materials to the standards required by the college as outlined in the faculty handbook and the quality assessment handbook. This includes an approved syllabus and scheme of work for each course taught, weekly lesson plans and all supplementary teaching materials: notes, handouts, presentations, case studies, recommended and suggested reading materials.
Invigilating examinations and assisting others with invigilation. Preparing and marking assessments, examinations, course work assignments, and projects.
Maintaining up-to-date records of grades and student attendance.
Supporting and following Les Roches Shanghai Hotel Management College policies.
Complying with Les Roches Shanghai Hotel Management College academic standards of excellence and procedures.
Taking part in academic advising of allotted students.
Being available, as per schedule, for tutorial duties.
Liaise between Les Roches Worldwide and LRS. Implement procedures, materials, testing systems and resources from Les Roches Crans Montana. Develop and oversee the faculty development of LRS’s English teachers.
Participating in the college special events and in student extra-curricular activities according to schedule when possible.
Observe all lecturers’ classes at least once each semeste
