Overview
The Head of Primary is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), bridging the Primary School staff and the Head of School. This role encompasses both teaching and administrative responsibilities, requiring exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The Head of Primary supports the effective daily management of the Primary School (K–G5), fosters a positive learning environment, and ensures alignment with the school’s philosophy, objectives, and global education model.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
l Manage daily operations of the Primary School in alignment with the school's mission.
l Collaborate with leadership on curriculum development, especially in English and Science.
l Lead curriculum implementation, assessment, and ongoing improvement.
l Conduct staff appraisals and provide mentoring and support.
l Oversee teacher induction, staffing needs, recruitment, and staff deployment. l Develop and implement the Primary School Development Plan.
l Ensure accurate student records and manage teacher coverage.
l Lead staff meetings and handle concerns related to staff, parents, or students. l Monitor student safety and organize school events and activities.
Teaching and Learning
l Lead professional development and teacher mentorship.
l Refine curriculum documents and promote inquiry-based, differentiated
teaching.
l Analyze assessment data to improve instructional practices.
l Ensure access to quality teaching materials and enrich learning experiences. l Enhance academic rigor within an international curriculum framework.
Student Support
l Oversee reporting systems to ensure clear communication of student progress to parents.
Community Engagement
l Build strong relationships with parents and act as a key point of communication. l Collaborate with other school leaders on curriculum alignment and student
welfare.
l Represent the school at educational events and conferences.
l Facilitate regular meetings with parent representatives and support local
engagement initiatives.
Student Admissions
l Support marketing and admissions through events and interviews.
l Assist in student recruitment and retention, especially in lower grades. Performance Appraisal
l Annual evaluation by the Head of School based on agreed-upon criteria.
Qualifications & Experience
l Master’s degree (or higher) in Education or a related field.
l Valid teaching certification.
l At least 10 years of teaching experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role. l Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., IB PYP, British, American).
l Proven experience in curriculum leadership, teacher development, and team
management.

Salary and Benefits
1. Salary range 600,000 to 700,000 RMB before annually based on experience and qualifications;
2. Flight Reimbursement: a maximum amount of RMB 30,000 per school year to international head of primary and the accompanied dependent during the employment.
3. Relocaton Reimbursement: School will provide RMB 2,000 yuan as relocaton reimbursement.
