Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and strategic leader for the role of Middle School Vice Principal (Student Well-being). The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of adolescent development and be responsible for fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive school culture where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Whole-Child Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive student well-being program that integrates social-emotional learning, character education, and positive behavior support systems.
Culture & Climate: Champion a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture. Proactively address issues of student conduct, attendance, and bullying in a restorative and educational manner.
Safeguarding: Serve as the designated Safeguarding Lead for the Middle School, ensuring all child protection policies and procedures are rigorously upheld.
Collaboration: Work closely with counselors, homeroom teachers, academic leaders, and parents to create a robust support network for all students, particularly those in need.
Crisis Management: Lead the response to critical incidents and student emergencies, providing calm and effective leadership.
Parent Partnership: Engage effectively with parents as partners in their child's well-being and development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or a related field.
Certification: A mandatory and valid teaching qualification: PGCE, QTS, U.S. state license, or equivalent.
Experience: Significant leadership experience in a middle school setting (e.g., Principal, Vice Principal, Dean of Students, or Head of Counseling). A proven track record in developing student well-being programs is essential.
Personal Attributes: Exceptional emotional intelligence, integrity, and a demonstrated ability to connect with and inspire young adolescents.
