About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Science educator to join a well-established international school in Nanjing. We are looking for a teacher who engages students through inquiry-based learning, fosters scientific curiosity, and supports young learners in building both knowledge and confidence. Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery and Classroom Practice
• Design and deliver engaging science lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities at Key Stage 3 level.
• Develop well-structured units of work aligned with the school’s curriculum framework and assessment expectations.
• Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to participate.
• Use formative and summative assessment strategies to track student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
Student Development and Pastoral Care
• Take on a pastoral role, supporting a group of students in their social, emotional, and academic development.
• Build trusting relationships with students, encouraging resilience, independence, and a positive approach to learning.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support individual student needs and promote wellbeing across the school.
Professional Growth and Collaboration
• Actively participate in professional learning communities and school-based development opportunities.
• Engage in reflective practice, using feedback and student data to refine teaching approaches.
• Work closely with fellow teachers to share resources, discuss practice, and contribute to a supportive professional environment.
Contribution to School Life
• Contribute to the school’s enrichment programme by leading or supporting extracurricular activities, clubs, or events.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Experience
• A recognised professional teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, or a valid U.S. state teaching license.
• A bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
• A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (meeting visa requirements).
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with a clear understanding of professional responsibilities in this area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
• Sound subject knowledge in science, with the ability to present concepts in ways that are accessible and engaging for adolescent learners.
• Strong classroom management skills, with a focus on building a purposeful and respectful learning environment.

• Competence in using digital tools and educational technology to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
