Job Title: Artistic Director
School: A K-12 School in Songjiang District, Shanghai
Salary: RMB 500,000–700,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop an Integrated K–12 Arts Framework

Design and implement a cohesive arts system spanning performing arts, visual arts, and both curricular and extracurricular offerings, with a focus on student growth.

Create a spiral curriculum across music, visual arts, drama, design, and related disciplines through structured curriculum mapping.

Build a complete arts pathway that includes standard courses, school teams, enrichment programs, and college-preparatory tracks for students pursuing arts-focused higher education.

2. Lead the K–9 Arts Faculty

Manage and support a multidisciplinary arts team (music, visual arts, drama, design, etc.) across kindergarten through middle school.

Oversee teaching research, facilitate cross-divisional and cross-disciplinary collaboration, and promote effective teamwork.

Establish professional development initiatives to strengthen curriculum design and student mentorship skills within the team.

3. Drive Signature Arts Initiatives

Plan and execute one to two school-wide arts events or programs each year to enhance the school’s arts culture.

Showcase outstanding student work and raise the school’s visibility in the arts.

Introduce or adapt high-profile international arts resources (e.g., RISD Summer School) in areas such as music, performing arts, film, and visual arts, developing programs that combine artistic excellence with sustainable value.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in visual or performing arts (fine arts, music, drama, dance, or related fields).

5–8 years of K–12 arts teaching experience, including at least 5 years in curriculum development and team leadership.

Proven experience in initiating and managing large-scale arts programs from concept to completion.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Chinese and international teams as well as external partners.

Familiarity with IBMYP/DP, IGCSE, or equivalent international arts curricula. Knowledge of Design Thinking and STEAM/maker education is preferred.

Prior experience studying at or collaborating with overseas arts institutions (e.g., RISD) is a plus.
