We are seeking a History Teacher for the Humanities Department for 2026-2027 to cover an allocation up to 20 periods. The immediate need is AP US History, with primary ownership expected from the start of term. The position is not narrowly defined to AP US History alone: assignment may extend to other history offerings within the AP pathway as course allocations are finalized, so candidates should bring range across periods rather than a single specialization.

- Teach AP US History to the College Board standard, preparing students for the AP exam and for university-level history study.
- Take on additional history sections as departmental scheduling requires, which may include other AP or pathway history courses.
- Contribute to departmental curriculum planning and share materials and assessment practice with Humanities colleagues.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and the wider school community.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in History or a related humanities discipline.
- Minimum 2 years teaching History at secondary level.
- Ability to teach across multiple historical periods and topics, and to teach to AP standard.
- Native or near-native English; strong intercultural sensitivity for a diverse international faculty and student body.
Preferred
- Direct classroom experience teaching AP US History; College Board AP training or exam-reading experience.
- Master's degree in History or a related discipline.
- Experience in a Chinese international school context or with EAL learners.
