Job Title:Subject Teacher
Location: Shanghai, China (Boarding Bilingual School)
Job Responsibilities
1. Academic Teaching (Primary Duty)
1.Deliver fully English instruction for IGCSE / A-Level Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Prepare lesson plans, assignments, quizzes and student progress reports.
2.Attend department meetings, exam setting, after-class tutoring and parent-teacher conferences in English.
3.Supervise boarding students’ self-study sessions and answer subject questions after class.
2. Dorm Tutor Duty (Paid Separately as Allowance)
1.Live on campus, conduct nightly dorm roll call, manage daily routine, electronic device rules and dorm hygiene.
2.Handle minor student conflicts, mild health issues and emergency incidents at night, report to boarding supervisor timely.
3.Organize simple activities for students staying on campus during weekends and conduct regular safety checks.
4.Keep dorm records and communicate with parents in English.
Note: No domestic work such as students’ laundry or private room cleaning required.
Requirements
1.Nationality: Filipino, Female preferred, willing to live on campus on a long-term basis.
2.Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or related STEM fields.
3.Certificates: Valid TEFL/TESOL certificate, clean police clearance, degree eligible for Apostille authentication.
4.Experience: Minimum 2 years full-time teaching experience in international/bilingual schools for IGCSE/A-Level curriculum. Candidates with previous Dorm Tutor experience in boarding schools are highly preferred.
5.Language: Neutral American accent without strong Filipino local accent, proficient in written and spoken English.
6.Personality: Patient, good at adolescent communication, able to work under pressure and follow the school’s shift schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
1.Total pre-tax monthly salary: RMB 18,000 – 20,000
Basic salary RMB 15,000 (for official Work Permit application to comply with Shanghai SAFEA regulations)
Dorm tutor allowance RMB 3,000 – 5,000 per month. Overtime pay for night shifts and public holiday duties separately calculated.
2.Extra class fee: RMB 150 per 45-minute lesson for classes exceeding the contracted 22 lessons per week.
3.Accommodation: Free private single apartment on campus with all utilities (water, electricity, internet) covered by school.
4.Meals: Free staff canteen meals.
5.Leave: Fully paid winter & summer vacations, all Chinese statutory public holidays.
6.Insurance: Comprehensive expat medical insurance and accident insurance.
7.Travel Benefit: One round-trip economy airfare between Shanghai and Manila reimbursed per completed working year.
8.Full official service: The school will process Z visa, Foreign Expert Work Permit and Residence Permit entirely.
Working Schedule
1.Teaching load: 20–22 scheduled lessons per week.
2.Dorm duty on a rotating roster. One full rest day per week with no dorm supervision required. Only emergency calls after 22:00.
3.Dorm workload is greatly reduced during school vacations with only occasional inspection shifts.
