About the Role

A well-known international school in Nanjing is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Art to lead its Art department. This is a short-term contract commencing in January 2027, open to both expatriate and local Chinese teachers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Art department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year levels

Teach A-Level and iGCSE Art courses

Develop and review curriculum, schemes of work, and assessment materials

Mentor and support Art teachers within the department

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement

Organize and promote art exhibitions, showcases, and extracurricular art activities

Ensure the Art department meets examination board standards and school expectations

Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to contribute to the wider school community

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Art, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field

Proven experience teaching A-Level and iGCSE Art

Previous experience in a leadership or head of department role is preferred

Strong understanding of international curricula and assessment practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff

Commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression
