Description: When you are a Warehouse Internal Planning Engineer at Caterpillar, you preform both operational and tactical work to meet plant logistics deliverables. You receive direction from a Facility Logistics Engineers, and are responsible for ensuring material is shipped, received, stored or delivered quickly and efficiently and inventory warehousing standards fora facility. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Performing tasks to improve inbound and outbound material flow * Participating in continuous improvement/NPI projects * Providing tactical management for inventory levels and daily operations * Optimizing material flow throughout the plant site * Performing tasks supporting carrier collaboration, smooth operation of milk runs, coordination of third party logistics services, plant site material logistics, and managing supermarkets and kitting processes * Investigating root causes and performing corrective action to resolve transportation issues *Support maintaining service for industrial vehicle repair, performing all repairs and preventive maintenance for all vehicles plant wide * Scheduling supplier deliveries by common carrier and administering returnable container programs * Servicing production area needs in off shift hours Required Qualifications: *College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering * A minimum of three years of supply chain or related field job experience; and Interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communications skills * Material Distribution experience * Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles * A background in Inventory Management, Material Requirements and/or Supply Chain/Logistics Packaging, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Operations. * Must be CAD and other similar electronic drafting experience. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills * Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures * Thorough knowledge of Standard Practice 20, corporate shipping guidelines, quality and cleanliness specifications and inventory warehousing standards. Desired Qualifications: * Familiar with company policies and procedures with a strong department background. * CPS Functional Job Role Qualified * APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired * Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.
