ELA/ESL Teacher

Location: Qingdao, China

The ELA teacher reports to the Director.

Main responsibilities:

1. Teach English language arts or related courses, including but not limited to ELA (English Language Arts), EAP (English for Academic purpose), English Writing, etc;

2. Actively participate in the curriculum development, teacher’s training workshops and academic affairs meetings organized by the school and the department;

3. Provide necessary guidance and after-class support for students, actively participate in school and department events, and guide student organizations;

4. Assist in student admissions process and marketing activities;

5. Other teaching and student related work arranged by the Principal or Director.


Qualifications:

1. More than 2 years of teaching experience in relevant English subject, preferably in an international school;

2. Full-time Bachelor’s degree or above, English related major or social studies major with an emphasis on intensive academic writing;

3. Familiar with the American High School Curriculum Standards, e.g. TEKS, Common Core or state curriculum standards;

4. Have an understanding of Chinese students and schools;

5. Devoted, care for students, abide by professional ethics, and have a strong sense of responsibility and good team spirit.

Work Day：

Working under the full-time standard working time system. Working for no more than 8 hours every day and for five days every week, which starts at 8:00AM and ends at 5:00PM (with one-hour lunch break).
