Job Description

1.Delivering well-planned and effective lessons as directed by leadership team and class teacher;
2.Delivering well-planned and effective subject lessons, that incorporate the need to be an English language lesson at the same time;
3.Planning and delivering age-appropriate Units of Inquiry (UOI), subject and stand-alone lessons delivered in English;
4.Demonstrating and modelling a mother tongue, professional level of spoken and written English for children, EAL parents and students;
5.Ensuring their class models target language, managing the amount and use of clear, concise Chinese translation only as absolutely necessary.;
6.Ensure the 90%/10% balance of English/Chinese spoken by class teachers and children throughout working day (except Mandarin lessons). Subject teachers should aim for an ideal of 80%/20% balance;
7.Plan creative and effective lessons with teacher assistants, grade level or subject department colleagues, as well as broader Inquiry team;
8.Know and act upon UOI, subject and weekly planning.;
9.Attend class or specialist lessons as requested by leadership;
10.Manage the making of teaching aids;
11.Supporting the wider implementation of school rules in a manner consistent with the School values and IB PYP philosophy;

Requirements

1.Bachelor's degree or above;
2.TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification;
3.Clear criminal background check;
4.Two years of previous teaching experience preferred;
5.IB PYP teaching experience required;

Salary and Benefits

1.Salary range 23,000 to 25,000 RMB (after tax) per month based on experience and qualifications;
2.Housing allowance 3,800 RMB per month;
3.Flight allowance and travel allowance provided;
4.Work visa provided;
5.Health insurance provided;
6.Holidays:
- All Chinese statutory holidays;
- Full paid 6-8 weeks Summer holiday
- Full paid 2 weeks Winter holiday
