Job Title: Secondary English Teacher (International School, Ningbo)
Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize a variety of teaching methods to stimulate students' learning and meet the diverse needs of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English using a variety of methods that stimulate learning through scaffolding to meet curriculum demands and students' needs.
- Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with school policy and establish good practices in behavior management.
- Apply various evaluation methods to assess and track student performance regularly in line with course objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the relevant subject’s strategic action plan.
- Attend and actively contribute to staff and department meetings.
- Use data to display student performance progress and develop appropriate action plans tailored to each student's situation.
- Critically review and reflect on teaching and learning methods regularly.
- Implement safeguarding measures to ensure students' safety in the classroom.
- Participate in the school's professional learning programs and continued professional development in relevant areas, especially subject knowledge and teaching methods.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Conferences and other academic and pastoral events.
- Ensure effective communication with parents regarding student academic performance, following the school’s reporting procedures and addressing specific concerns.
- Undertake other duties as required according to the school schedule.
- Comply with the current policies and regulations of the school.
- Demonstrate and uphold the school values at all times, both within the school and in the wider community.
Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject fields; a Master’s degree is desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience in an international curriculum, familiar with courses such as IB, A-Level, and IGCSE.
- Strong classroom management skills and extensive experience in organizing extracurricular activities is preferred.
- A native-level English speaker with professional knowledge and skills; highly motivated and goal-oriented.
- Excellent cross-cultural awareness.
- Experience working or studying under both Chinese and Western education systems, with an understanding of their differences and adaptability to the international curriculum.
- Respect and comply with school regulations.
