Job Purpose
The (Vice) Principal of the High School Division is fully responsible for academic management, faculty development, student achievement and holistic growth, campus culture building, and daily operations within the division. The role includes formulating and implementing annual and long-term strategic plans, with a dual focus on ensuring high academic performance and university admission outcomes for A-Level and AP programs, while simultaneously fostering students’ character, leadership, creativity, and social responsibility to create an educational environment that balances academic excellence with whole-person development.
Responsibilities
1. Academic and Teaching Quality Management
1) Oversee curriculum planning and optimization to meet international university admission standards and academic requirements.
2) Supervise the implementation of teaching plans, academic coordination, and curriculum management to ensure continuous improvement in academic performance.
3) Guide subject leaders, grade leaders, and academic coordinators in collecting and analyzing assessment and learning data to develop actionable improvement plans.
4) Establish academic quality monitoring mechanisms to promote reflective teaching and formative assessment as standard practices.
2. Faculty Development and Management
1) Participate in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of high school faculty to build a stable and effective teaching team.
2) Guide middle management staff to define responsibilities clearly and enhance
execution and leadership capacity.
3) Organize professional development activities and cross-disciplinary collaboration to foster innovation and cooperation.
4) Establish teacher performance feedback and support mechanisms to enhance staff stability and satisfaction.
3. Student Development and Holistic Education
1) Oversee the implementation of pastoral care, behavior management, and psychological support through the Student Development Center and grade-level teams.
2) Promote student engagement in clubs, experiential learning, community service, and leadership programs.
3) Coordinate academic planning, university counseling, and personalized development plans to achieve diverse educational goals.
4. Campus Culture and Daily Operations
1) Foster a positive, inclusive, and internationally minded campus culture.
2) Manage daily operations of the High School Division, including scheduling, facility coordination, event approval, and safety management.
3) Supervise and enhance student rewards, recognition, and incentive systems.
5. Parent-School Communication and External Relations
1) Establish and improve mechanisms for parent-school communication to enhance parent satisfaction and trust.
2) Participate in admissions, marketing, and alumni relations initiatives to support school branding.
3) Represent the High School Division in communications with educational authorities, examination boards, and partner organizations.
4) Lead the school’s external accreditation and evaluation processes, maintain positive relationships with accrediting bodies, and ensure the school continues to meet international standards and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
1. Master’s degree or above.
2. At least five years of experience in international high school teaching and administration, with familiarity with the A-Level and AP system.
3. Proven experience working in similar bilingual schools and collaborating with Chinese senior management teams.
4. Applications from candidates with mid-level management backgrounds are welcome; senior management experience is not a strict requirement.
5. Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making ability, with the capacity to balance academic achievement and students’ holistic development.
6. Outstanding leadership, conflict management, cross-cultural communication, and school–parent liaison skills.
7. Strong alignment with the school’s educational philosophy and mission, and willingness to grow together with the school.
8. Highly self-motivated, committed to continuous learning, humble, and possessing a clear sense of self-awareness.
