Position Overview
We are seeking a native Japanese translator with exceptional Chinese proficiency to join our team, focusing on Japanese-to-Chinese translation of short dramas and web novels. This is a remote position open to both part-time and full-time arrangements, offering flexible work hours and a competitive salary range of 20,000-30,000 RMB per month. Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality Japanese-to-Chinese translation for short drama scripts, web novels, and related content, ensuring accuracy, fluency, and cultural relevance.
Handle internet slang, cultural metaphors, and colloquial expressions effectively, adapting them naturally to Chinese linguistic and cultural contexts.
Maintain the original tone, character personalities, and narrative rhythm of short dramas (e.g., compact dialogue, dramatic tension) and web novels.
Collaborate remotely with editors and content teams to meet project deadlines, revise translations based on feedback, and ensure consistency in terminology.
Conduct basic proofreading and quality checks on your translations to eliminate errors in grammar, spelling, and cultural adaptation.
Requirements & Qualifications
Native Japanese national with a valid passport or nationality proof.
Chinese proficiency at HSK Level 6 or equivalent, demonstrating excellent reading, writing, and comprehension skills in both formal and colloquial Chinese.
2+ years of professional translation experience, preferably in short dramas, web novels, film/TV scripts, or related creative content.
Deep understanding of Chinese internet culture, popular memes, and youth trends; ability to translate cultural-specific content without losing meaning.
Proficiency in translation tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Smartling) and Microsoft Office; familiarity with cloud collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, WeChat Work) is a plus.
Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
No location restrictions—can work from anywhere in Japan or globally, as long as deadlines are met.
