Job Title: High School Foreign Arts & Athletics Instructor (Performing Arts & Cheerleading Focus)

Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate High School Foreign Arts & Athletics Instructor to design and deliver an integrated curriculum combining dance, instrumental music, and cheer-leading/sports performance. This role focuses on guiding students to meet high school competency standards in arts and physical education while cultivating teamwork, discipline, and performance skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performing Arts Instruction (Dance & Instrumental Music)
- Teach and choreograph dance routines across styles (e.g., jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or Chinese traditional dance).
- Lead instrumental music sessions (band, percussion, or keyboard) for school performances and competition preparation.
- Collaborate with music/PE departments to integrate rhythm, movement, and coordination training.
2. Cheer-leading & Sports Performance Coaching
- Serve as head coach for the school’s cheer-leading team, including stunts, tumbling, jumps, and chants.
- Design routines for school sports events, competitions, and showcases.
- Emphasize injury prevention, team spirit, and athletic conditioning.
3. Curriculum & Standards
- Develop lesson plans aligned with school arts/PE goals and Shanghai high school competency benchmarks.
- Assess student progress in performance, technique, and teamwork.
- Prepare students for inter-school competitions, festivals, and end-of-term exhibitions.
4. Student Development & School Life
- Mentor students in building confidence, leadership, and resilience through the arts and athletics.
- Organize auditions, team tryouts, and after-school rehearsals/practices.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Dance, Music, Physical Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, State Teaching License) or equivalent professional coaching credentials.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching/coaching experience in dance, cheerleading, or instrumental music at the secondary level.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written); basic Mandarin is a plus but not required.
- Ability to choreograph and teach safe, age-appropriate stunts and routines for cheerleading.
Preferred
- Experience with international curricula (IB, A-Level, AP, or OSSD PE).
- Background in instrumental ensemble direction or band leadership.
- First aid/CPR certification or sports coaching qualifications (e.g., ACSM, NASM, or NFHS).
- Prior work experience in China or international schools with cross-cultural adaptability.
