Requirements:
• To create an exciting and challenging Physical education program which will support the school's children in their appreciation for personal and physical development.
• This experience and/or environment must model the principles of the school ethos as well as the philosophy and methodology of Montessori.
• The PE curriculum will be culturally diversified and will explore a wide variety of games and skills. It will also include movement activities which can be incorporated into performance and drama.
• To attend a monthly planning meeting with the Senior Academic Team to satisfy the above.
• To create daily lesson plans with your fellow PE teachers which will outline the goals, content and support resources to be used.
• To be responsible for the orders of all PE supplies, including playground resources as well as their routine maintenance.
• To assist in the organization of an annual sports day.
• To be aware of the inter-city collegiate activities and be responsible for our students' potential participation in tournaments, meets and competitions.
• To organize a variety of extra-curricular activities for our students.
• To monitor and liaise with the class teachers, regarding the students' progress.
• To write comments and assessments of the students for the appropriate progress reports.
• To attend and participate in parent evenings and curriculum presentations and attend all school wide functions, staff meetings, and professional development workshops.
• To undertake other supervisory duties such as in the playground and lunch room as set out by the school.
• To meet all the requirements outlined in the job description of Montessori Lead Teacher.
• To organize the after school activities, inclusive of the scheduling, hiring of teachers, supervision and evaluation of their programs.
• To be available every day during these activities to ensure the smooth implementation as well as parent satisfaction.
• To ensure that the dismissal of children form their activities is successful and that all students are accounted for at all times.
• To liaise with the Administration regarding the publishing of these programs.
Basic Requirements for Applicants:
-Genuine passion for children, with a particular willingness to build long-term and meaningful relationships with adolescent students
-View education as a calling, not just a job
-Open-minded, willing to reflect, and eager to learn new educational philosophies
-Strong interest in Montessori education and a commitment to systematic training. The school will select qualified teachers for summer study programs in the United States. Upon completing theoretical courses and internships, teachers will obtain an internationally recognized Montessori certification.
-Ability to work in a developing program, demonstrating flexibility and a pioneering spirit
-Willing to commit long-term and grow together with the school
-Native English speakers or non-native speakers with at least two years of relevant work experience
-Hold a valid internationally recognized Montessori teaching credential (AMS/AMI)
