As the Data Scientist, your purpose is to spearhead the growth of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) within E-commerce Platform - Business Intelligence and Insights team
Leveraging the customer profiling and customer profitability data within the online space, your role is to harness this data to deliver innovative and forward-thinking insights and reporting
Your leadership will empower the team to explore cutting-edge analytics techniques, drive strategic decision-making, and unlock new opportunities for business growth and optimization
The role will oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytical models, algorithms, and AI solutions, creating and managing MLOps/ DataOps Lifecycle
It requires the application machine learning, predictive analytics, and other advanced techniques to extract insights and drive decision-making

What will your day look like


Develop a clear strategic vision for how advanced analytics and AI can revolutionize e-commerce & Retail management and customer profitability reporting. Align this vision with the broader organizational goals to ensure maximum impact
Drive the development and implementation of advanced analytical models, algorithms, data mining, statistical methods, and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems and generate actionable insights.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities for leveraging financial and customer profitability data. Explore data sources and develop strategies for data modelling and integration.
Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of analytical models and solutions through rigorous testing, validation, and documentation processes.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and Data, to integrate advanced analytics solutions into business processes and systems. Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and requirements.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Encourage experimentation, learning, and knowledge sharing to stay at the forefront of analytics trends and best practices.
Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in data science, machine learning, and related fields.

What will you bring


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Highly experienced in data engineering and analysis (very strong in SQL/NoSQL)
Machine learning (such as Python, R, Pandas or similar) and emerging AI/ ML Framework (Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, MCMC, e.t.c)
Statistical modelling/algorithms (Predictive AI)
Knowledge of Natural Language Processing
E-commerce/ Retails/ Financial services/domain knowledge
Possess exceptional quantitative and analytical skills using data exploratory techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Proven record in working with large data sets that may be disparate and challenging.
Ability to synthesise multiple sources of information to make sound decisions keeping the customer at the heart of all decisions
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong delivery focus experience and able to coordinate many moving parts to deliver an outcome
Strong reporting and data presentation skills and techniques
